St. Paul School District CTE
This Progressive Design-Build project delivered a new 6,400-square-foot Career and Technical Education (CTE) center in a pre-engineered metal building that included welding booths with exhaust hoods, a wood shop with dust collection, agricultural classrooms, offices and restrooms. The scope also included an elementary school kitchen remodel, security and fire safety upgrades, classroom paging system improvements, new sidewalks, paving and a more efficient fire lane. Because the building site was low and wet, Pence raised the existing grade by two feet, imported rock and constructed a stormwater retention pond. Work on this occupied campus was scheduled during school breaks to best accommodate operations, student safety and transportation routes. The project was completed on time under budget, allowing the district to fund other campus enhancements and CTE equipment.
