Avamere Transitional Care of Puget Sound

Our work with Avamere Family of Companies continues in Tacoma, Washington with the construction of the nearly 40,000 square foot Transitional Care of Puget Sound.

This short term, post-acute health care center specializes in intensive skilled nursing and rehabilitation services. Pence brought our experience in senior living and healthcare construction to the table to build 56 single bed, private and two double bed, semi-private rooms. Each room is equipped with a private ADA-compliant roll-in shower, toilet, and sink/vanity.

For resident enjoyment and use, two internal courtyards were built that feature stamped and colored concrete. Other notable spaces included a full service kitchen, large dining room and nourishment station, occupational therapy gym, nurse’s stations, backup emergency generator, double sided gas fireplace in the lobby and a fly-away canopy.

A unique features for this project was the implementation of approximately 1,800 lineal feet of 66” diameter steel storm detention pipe under the parking areas as required by the city for on site storm water storage.
