DHS Roseburg

Former Douglas Community Hospital sat unused for years before developer Rubicon Investments stepped in to transform it into a lively business center for the small town of Roseburg, Oregon. The space, now called Harvard West Campus, houses several key sectors of Oregon Department of Human Services.

The three story building was transformed from health care to office building over the course of 11 months. Pence nearly doubled its size, which reached nearly 80,000 square feet when completed. Built with structural steel, metal studs, brick veneer and metal panels, the building’s transformation is one of the largest projects in recent Roseburg history. Its remote location made the logistics of suppliers and subcontractors a challenge, but the project closed out on time.
