Friendsview Charles Beale Plaza

This ground-up construction project was a four-story, 101,000-square-foot facility on Friendsview’s existing retirement campus, featuring 69 studios and one-bedroom enhanced-care suites. Opened in summer 2023, this new building replaced the original Charles Beals Health Center and was designed to support residents with a variety of clinical and mobility needs. Each private unit includes smart, color-balanced lighting, accessible showers, kitchens, washers and dryers, and space for adaptive equipment. Common areas offer large outdoor balconies and scenic views of Hess Creek Canyon, creating a secure but welcoming home environment. 

Constructed in two phases to minimize disruption on the occupied campus, the project allowed current residents to remain in place until their new suites were ready. The facility supports 24/7 nursing care and holistic services provided by a multidisciplinary team of health professionals, volunteers and specialists. The facility reflects Friendsview’s commitment to whole-person care, blending innovation, privacy and compassion in a modern residential setting.
